When we booked this cruise we spent months reading about and researching all of the ports we were going to visit and we were so excited. We planned where we were going to eat, what excursions we wanted to do, and even where we could grab a drink. Our original itinerary was going to be San Juan, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, and St. Thomas. It wasn’t until after we had set sail that our whole itinerary changed because of the hurricanes. We hadn’t done any research on any of the new ports we were going too and had no idea what to do. We ended up doing an excursion in Jamaica and the rest of the time we just got off the ship and did our own thing. We had so much fun exploring these beautiful islands together and can’t wait for our next cruise!
If you follow me on Instagram or read my last blog post, then you probably know that my family and I were in Gulf Shores last week for vacation. We’ve been vacationing there for the last 6 years or so, and we always find ourselves wanting to go back!
We were so excited to go this time and actually get to relax on the beach! When we visited in May it literally rained the whole week we were there. It was awful! This time the weather was perfect, and I came back with a pretty good tan!
My body thinks I should wake up at 6 every morning when I’m on vacation. I’ve come to find out it isn’t such a bad thing. With my mother being the same way, sunrise beach walks have kind of become our special thing in the mornings. Every morning we wake up and change out of our pajamas, go for our walk, and come back and have our morning coffee on the porch. It’s a time we spend together and share the best memories. Finding seashells that have washed up, watching the dolphins play in the distance, getting caught in a rain storm, or just simply watching the waves roll in are some of the memories I will cherish forever. It’s one of my favorite things we do during our family vacations and it’s always an adventure!
