Cruise Guide Part 1- Ocho Rios & Grand Cayman

When we booked this cruise we spent months reading about and researching all of the ports we were going to visit and we were so excited. We planned where we were going to eat, what excursions we wanted to do, and even where we could grab a drink. Our original itinerary was going to be San Juan, Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, and St. Thomas. It wasn’t until after we had set sail that our whole itinerary changed because of the hurricanes. We hadn’t done any research on any of the new ports we were going too and had no idea what to do. We ended up doing an excursion in Jamaica and the rest of the time we just got off the ship and did our own thing. We had so much fun exploring these beautiful islands together and can’t wait for our next cruise!

What We Did: Dunn’s River Fall’s and Bamboo Beach Club Excursion

Dunn’s River Fall’s was one of the coolest things we have ever done! If you ever get a chance to go ask for K.C. as your guide because he was awesome! We were in a group with about 10 other people and they made us all hold hands and took us up the middle of the Fall’s! It was so much fun! We’ve already decided to do it again if we ever go back. We couldn’t take our camera so all of our pictures are on our Go Pro but, I’ll try to post them soon.

After Dunn’s River Fall’s they took us to Bamboo Beach Club where they served us lunch and unlimited beer and rum punch 🙂 We got to enjoy the beach for a couple of hours and met some really cool people that were on the excursion with us!

What We Did: Royal Palms Beach Club

We had originally planned to go to 7 Mile Beach because everyone seemed to be going there but, after the struggle of trying to get there, (it’s a long story) a couple of locals recommended the Royal Palms Beach Club. It was $2 to get in and it was the perfect place to spend the day! We picked a spot to relax on the beach for a bit and then had lunch and drinks at bar. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly!

This is a great place to enjoy the day at Grand Cayman if you’re not planning on doing an excursion! It’s a short taxi ride from the cruise port or about a 30 minute walk. It was miserably hot when we were there so walking wasn’t the best idea (hence the struggle) but, we found a Smoothie King along the way so it wasn’t so bad!
